All about the colors

I have being reading the newspaper despite getting them a day late or so. The news that did catch my attention is that bloggers have being arrested for racism. It’s a dirty word yet in truth you see it everyday whether in big or small ways. It may even be integrated within ourselves when we are born. This is definitely not true IMO.

Here's something I experienced myself.

Before I left for Brunei, my nieces could happily play on the playground with other kids, be it white, brown, black, rainbow etc. When I came back for my home leave the last previous months, I realized one thing when I took them out for a short walk to buy some groceries (ok my things, the kids got saddled on me), where they used smile and wave at their malay, indian friends before, they were silent and sullen when we passed by another family going out. I noticed it and was kinda surprised at that time and so I asked them. The story I got could truly prove that kids get their attitudes from their parents. It turned out that their mother got into a minor quarrel with the other kids parents regarding the other party’s son kicking at my oldest niece on a slide. According to the kids it was an accident but somehow it got overblown. I have no idea how that happened.

Side note to self. Don’t get between mothers and their children.

Whatever the case, the damage was done and somehow it seemed the son was now anti-chinese since he ignored all his previous chinese friends. He must be confused as I look nothing like your typical chinese due to my mixed blood. I’m dark and told I resemble more a malay due to my tanned skin than a chinese. I get described as a chinese by my malay friends abject with dark skin. It doesn’t matter though as I get very mixed reactions on being a chinese or a malay, in fact I find it a joke when my friends are unsure as to my racial identity on my first meeting me. I’m a filipino – chinese mixed lol.

Which leaves me a little matter enough to make me more than a little worried. What if someone posts something racial or with intent to spread racism on my blog (small chance) and being that I seldom manage to get online as I’m still doing my tour in Brunei, I may not be able to monitor my blog or what gets posted on it regularly. Would I end up being sued? Somehow the answer I came up with doesn’t help allay my fears. Nice……………. Blogging for fun? Likely to get sued? Real nice…………. Seriously………

A couple more months to stay in Brunei lor. Come back try get attached lor. EOT lor!!!!! ORD soon lor!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Rats!!! A real Big ‘un

Animal Chat observations. Also applicable to the real world at large.
(Disclaimer I have nothing against rats. Serious. )

Rats are all over the place and they are really making their presence felt whether in subtle or obvious ways. Sneaky and devious with a cunning understanding of procedures and the way a system works. Working from the dregs scheming and observing for weak points to strike, they make good conspirators yet dangerous as they seem supportive of change yet resistant to the every minute changes they wish to make. As long as they see it as not with them, plans are scuttled and swept away without it seeing the light of day. Nothing is sacred to them, not experience, age nor standing. They will remake it as they wish to whether it means stepping over others and leaving them to whither behind them. They are merely stepping stones no more than that. A path trodden by them on others without a care but their own.

Rats are just that. Rats. Eagar to move up they’ll willingly sell others for a pittance as long as they think it gives them an edge and does not put them in a disadvantageous position. If there’s a molehill, a mountain will be raised just to show that they can even if it serves no purpose other than as a declaration of war.

There are other rats which know nothing outside the confines of their own comfort world. These rats are a bane as they have authority yet no knowledge, want something done yet no wish to get down to it and see it through, choosing instead to delegate to someone else who has a better knowledge and then criticizing them on things that can have no improvements to them. Nothing can be done if the explanation flies by past their unwilling closed minds.

Perhaps in future, there would be better places or people but not where I am at the moment.

Amazing Things I should Have seen (or best not Have)

Woah. Check out how long have I not even thought of this little space of public thoughts. I went back to Sweet home Singapore from the 1st of august to the 16th and guess what I didn’t really get out that much. Reason? Let me give you a very good reason where almost all guys can or will sympathize.

It is one word. A somewhat dreaded word.

SAF

Gives you shivers eh? I had to run some errands during my all too short holiday in Singapore and let’s just leave it as that.

I brought back my PS2 which I had brought to save myself from the horrors of boredom and the tedious task of finding myself entertainment. The friendly neighborhood wildlife can only give you so much entertainment.
I would also like to add in a disclaimer here now that I did not kill or hurt any of the natural wildlife in my environment for the sake of entertainment. I did not do it.

Naturally I left it back home. I felt having a few months left in Brunei and the chances of then using it being so slim, I could qualify for a sliming centre advertisement, it would be pointless lugging it around between the two countries.

Now I’m buying back games so that this lazy writer would not have to go and buy anymore games. It also means that with the release of the new PS3 makes my PS2 go under the obsolete category. Never mind. It’s my entertainment.

I do moan that being away from home for so long that some friendships seem strained to the point that sieves seem more akin to it than any solid friendship. I guess that there are some things I would take for granted and ever bothered to take it out and maintain it. All that lack of polishing took the shine of the precious artifact called friendship.

Coming back to hell, being that this place is affectionately called that, I would have the luck to work on a project with I shall politely call Jackass to preserve a somewhat PG rating on this. Seriously views on the SAF are based on who you had worked with effecting whether you leave with good views or the bad. Unfortunately I think I would be leaving with the bad. It is said One bad apple spoils the barrel. Well it is true. Sadly true.

Oh yeah before I forget. I have being so called spamed. The offending article will be deleted lol.
